Nowa Huta: Kraków's Socialist Realism Suburb
ABOUT THE TOUR
Nowa Huta is a district of Krakow that is experiencing its renaissance. In the past it was an independent city and a symbol of socialist progress. Today, united with Krakow, it is one of its parts.
We will ride bicycles through the modern city of the 50s of the 20th century! We will hear about the shelter and buildings of Huta (Ironworks) of Sendzimir. Also about the church that was never to be built. We will go back to the 7th century and see the city from the top of one of the oldest Polish mounds.
The licensed guide will tell you about the history of the first use of bricks and abbots, who brought it to Poland. The bike tour will also enable you to get acquainted with the unique Polish painter. The special point of the program will be a dinner “as for PRL”.
BikeMePoland offers active tours for individual tourists and organized groups.
